Amigos Bar & Cantina at Kuningan

During the month of Ramadhan, my friends and I decided to meet up in Kuningan and have some Mexican food. We decided to go to Amigos in Bellagio because it serves Tex-Mex food and it was also near to the place where I am interning hehe. The place was very quiet by the time we got there moments before iftar time, only a few tables were filled and there's no background music playing inside the restaurant -- an odd thing because the Kemang branch of Amigos had always been lively with salsa music in the background. Nearing the time for breakfasting, we got complimentary jelly drinks and sweet tea. We then began ordering.

Classic Burrito with Beef (IDR 95.000)
The typical taco, burrito and such were the "Tex-Mex Favorites" that is offered by Amigos. Many of its variation can be customized to your order and you can mix one type of dish with another on a plate. This one, in particular, is the classic burrito which contains two burrito wrapper made out of flour tortilla filled with ground beef (there's also a shredded beef option for the same price), refried bean and cheese. The burrito was served alongside with Mexican rice, sour cream, guacamole and salsa.

Gonzales Strip Steak - Australian Beef (IDR 95.000)
The slices of Australian beef is marinated in a special sauce and served with vegetables on top of a hot stone. This dish is also served with a bowl of rice and came sizzling to the table. The smell was fantastic but I didn't get to try this one. My friend complained that there's not enough beef, though.

Chicken Quesadilla - Main Course (IDR 95.000)
This particular plate is the main course serving of quesadilla, served with Mexican rice, refried beans, salsa, sour cream, and guac. The flour tortilla is folded with a filling of shredded chicken, cheese, and grilled onion. I liked the quesadilla but I would like it more if there were more grill marks so that it'll be more crispen up because it tends to get soggy easily. You can opt for the quesadilla in their appetizer serving which is cheaper, yet does not come with the side of rice and beans.

Tex-Mex Combination - Any Two (IDR 102.000)
This is my personal option in which I picked out one Ground Beef Enchilada with Red Sauce alongside with one Shrimp Taco which is served with a soft shell. As per the rest of the Tex-Mex dishes, it is served with refried beans, Mexican rice and similar condiments to the aforementioned similar dishes. I particularly liked the soft shell tacos because it is fresh and it balances the richness of the rest of this particular dish which is pretty sauce-heavy and was served with a variety of greens such as lettuce, avocado, and jalapeno with cheese and chipotle sauce. I think picking out the combination menu is a good thing if you would like to try a lot of things or to trick yourself into a more value-added meal with better prices than one menu on its own.

I think my experience here is not as great as the one I had in Amigos at Kemang, especially because the vibes within the restaurant is different hence it gives off the different atmosphere. The music was later played moments after we finished our meal and its such a miss. Service was pretty good and the meal was nice, it's just that the slow hour got the best of it. I'd like to try Amigos Bar & Cantina Kuningan again to enjoy it's all you can eat promotion for weekdays lunch, which I think is a pretty good deal you can't find in other Amigos.
